Lebanon, Pennsylvania, United States HealthEcareers - Client Full time
Position Overview

This is a Full-time role requiring 36 hours per week with rotating Day/Night shifts.

Specialized Care Unit in Hematology-Oncology

The Registered Nurse is tasked with employing the nursing process to deliver evidence-based care while consistently monitoring and assessing practices to ensure the safe transition of patients, prioritizing the best interests of the populations served.

The Hem-Onc Special Care Unit (HSCU) comprises a 9-bed facility within the Hematology-Oncology Inpatient Unit (1W), dedicated to the care of patients undergoing Stem Cell Transplant and CAR T-cell therapy. Nurses in this unit are highly specialized and may also assist in the 1W unit as needed.

Level 1 Wing D (L1WD) Hematology Special Care Unit (HSCU) features a 9-bed area within the 23-bed L1DW Hem/Onc unit, where patients receiving Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T-Cell Therapy are treated. Nurses eager to expand their knowledge and skills in this field may have the chance to pursue Stem Cell Transplant and REMs certification training for this unit. These specialized professionals will also have the opportunity to support the L1WD Hem/Onc Inpatient unit when required. L1WD is part of the Dartmouth Cancer Center at D-H, recognized as one of only 53 designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the USA. While some may perceive Oncology as a challenging environment, many staff members find it deeply fulfilling and remain within the specialty for extended periods.

  5. Engage in the governance of nursing practice.
  6. Manage interpersonal relationships for oneself and with others.
  7. Mentor colleagues to advance nursing practice and the profession.
