Job Overview

VadaTech Inc. stands at the forefront of embedded computing solutions, and we are expanding our team. We are in search of a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our second-shift manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing CNC programs, selecting appropriate processes and tools, and setting up machinery. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and enhancing existing programs.
  • Ensuring precision in machining parts to meet stringent tolerances.
  • Utilizing measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify the accuracy of manufactured components against design specifications.
  • Updating CNC programs in response to quality data and other relevant information.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to provide estimates on project timelines and tooling needs.
  • Interpreting both 3D and 2D engineering models effectively.
  • Conducting machine shop setup and routine maintenance.
  • Assisting with various metal parts and fixture fabrication tasks, including cutting, jigging, and welding as required.
  • Performing daily maintenance and cleaning of machinery.
  • Adhering to all safety and regulatory protocols within the manufacturing environment.
  • Promoting a culture of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within the machine shop.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with multi-axis (5-axis) CNC operations, specifically with Mazak programming.
  • Ability to interpret part prints and ensure machining precision.
  • Strong skills in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Additional skills in welding, grinding, and waterjet operation are advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mastercam is essential.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving CNC programming issues.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their application in a machining context.
  • Experience with standard inspection tools and methods for evaluating machined components.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and experience working in collaborative environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in both research and development as well as production settings.

Education and Certifications:

  • Mastercam program certifications are mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications in Machining or Machine Tool Technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a CNC Programmer role is required, with 7+ years preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands necessary to perform essential job functions.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret technical data.

Schedule: Flexibility for all shifts is required.
