About This Role

Syngenta Seeds is a global leader in agriculture, driven by science to unlock plant potential. We're seeking a talented Crop Development and Breeding Specialist to join our team in Pasco, WA.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside our expert breeding and market segment teams, gaining hands-on experience in crop development and evaluation. As a specialist, you will support the development of new experimental hybrids and inbred lines, collecting and curating data for accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, adhering to HSE and corporate policies.
  • Support field-related activities, including the evaluation of new hybrids and inbred lines.
  • Implement electronic data collection protocols and procedures.
  • Manage and lead field crew activities during the evaluation season.
  • Assist in collecting data for trait discovery and validation projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pursue a Bachelor's degree in Plant Biology, Horticulture, Genetics, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Be a current student continuing education upon completion of the internship term.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
