Position Overview:
The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing various food items under the guidance of the Cafe Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize kitchen equipment such as ovens and stoves to create meals.
2. Clean and prepare fresh produce.
3. Cook a variety of dishes including soups, salads, desserts, and beverages according to established specifications and within designated timeframes.
4. Adhere to food safety and knife handling protocols.
5. Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries, ensuring proper stock management and rotation of ingredients.
6. Conduct thorough cleaning of kitchen areas.
7. Monitor waste levels and maintain accurate food portioning.
8. Stay updated with new and existing recipes to ensure quality consistency.
9. Utilize recipe guidelines and specifications provided daily to maintain product uniformity.

Additional Duties:
Perform custodial tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, or currently pursuing.
- Completion of CBC driver training and maintenance of a valid driver's license with insurance is required.
- State Foodhandler card or ServSafe certification as applicable.
- A minimum of 3 months experience in a food preparation environment is preferred, ideally in a restaurant or retail setting.
- Proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing) is necessary.
