Position Overview
The role entails overseeing and directing the development of processes and the maintenance of manufacturing specifications and standards. The Process Engineer will identify the necessary equipment, tooling, and processes for the production of specialized copper and fiber optic cables. Addressing production challenges and implementing corrective measures across all shifts is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and refine overall process-related issues.
- Design and maintain tools and dies.
- Conduct troubleshooting for equipment and compounds.
- Oversee assigned experimental production (XP's) products.
- Develop and maintain technical manufacturing instructions (T.M.'s).
- Create and uphold work instructions and procedures.
- Facilitate communication of critical processing information to manufacturing teams.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis studies and document findings on significant non-conformances.
- Assist in operator training as needed.
- Coordinate the process manufacturing of designated technical orders.
- Manage assigned capital appropriation (CA) projects.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to corrective action requests.
- Contribute to precise product costing.
- Maintain relationships with vendors to stay informed about current materials and processes.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Previous experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering is preferred but not mandatory. Ideally, candidates will have 2-3 years of experience in an engineering role.
Skills and Attributes
Effective communication skills are essential, along with the ability to lift 25 pounds and distinguish colors.
Language Skills
Average proficiency in language skills is required.
Mathematical and Reasoning Abilities
Above average mathematical and reasoning abilities are necessary.
Computer Skills
Above average computer skills are expected.
