Job Summary:
UF Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team in the Transplant I Dietary department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide clinical nutrition care to patients, demonstrating expertise in the principles of growth and development over the life span.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient data to evaluate nutritional status and develop, implement, monitor, and document nutrition care plans.
- Provide education and instruction to dietetic students and develop age-specific education materials.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain current knowledge of nutrition assessment and nutrient requirements, as well as current theory and practices of dietetics for this patient population.
- Participate in research procedures and protocols, as desired.
- Maintain CPR certification and adhere to all hospital and health science center policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in clinical dietetics.
- Completion of an American Dietetic Association (ADA) approved dietetic program.
- Masters Degree preferred.
- Three to five years of clinical experience, with two years in a clinic setting.
- Must possess thorough knowledge of nutrition assessment and nutrient requirements, as well as current theory and practices of dietetics for this patient population.
- Familiarity with research procedures and protocols desirable.
- Must be able to maintain CPR certification.
- Needs strong communication skills and the ability to positively interact with professional and non-professional hospital and health science center personnel.
- Must be able to participate as a team member of the interdisciplinary team.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Must have passed or be eligible to take the ADA Registration exam.
- Must be a state of Florida licensed dietitian/nutritionist or be eligible for same.
- Within six months of starting employment, must have passed both the ADA Registration and become licensed as a dietitian/nutritionist in the state of Florida.
