Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at Retina & Uveitis Consultants of Maine. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vision tests, including visual acuity, confrontational visual field, and pupil evaluation.
- Perform specialized imaging and diagnostic testing, such as OCT, Fundus Photos, and IOP measurements.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in our EMR system.
- Monitor patient flow and escort patients throughout the facility.
- Assist with clerical duties, such as scheduling, check-in/check-out, and phone calls.
- Administer eye drops and prepare patients for procedures.
- Maintain examination rooms and equipment.
- Restock medication and office supplies.
- Assist the Ophthalmologist during examinations and procedures.
Requirements:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
- Medical Terminology knowledge and/or medical office experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor degree preferred.
