We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Vantage Oncology Centers of Pennsylvania. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and prescription details
- Process prescriptions and bill insurance for payment
- Review and sign paperwork
- Troubleshoot Medicare part B verification requirements
- Submit prior authorizations
- Check for drug interactions
- Apply for financial assistance through cancer foundations and co-pay assistance for high-dollar oral drugs
- Track and report monthly inventory in retail computer
- Ensure that the most cost-effective drugs are ordered from vendors
- Label prescriptions and ensure they are checked correctly by provider
- Ensure prescriptions and paperwork are being signed off on by a provider
- Obtain patient's signature on all medications being dispensed
- File and store prescriptions
- Maintain daily reports
- Document all interactions with the patient in the EMR
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three to five years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting
- Prior IV admixture training is a plus
- Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended
