Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in an in-office dispensing setting. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and prescription details
• Process prescriptions and bill insurance for payment
• Review and sign paperwork
• Troubleshoot Medicare part B verification requirements
• Submit prior authorizations
• Check for drug interactions
• Apply for financial assistance through cancer foundations and co-pay assistance for high-dollar oral drugs
• Track and report monthly inventory in retail computer
• Ensure the most cost-effective drugs are ordered from vendors
• Label prescriptions and ensure they are checked correctly by a provider
• Ensure prescriptions and paperwork are signed off on by a provider
• Obtain patient signatures on all medications being dispensed
• File and store prescriptions
• File and maintain daily reports
• Document all interactions with patients in the EMR

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum three to five years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting
• Prior IV admixture training is a plus
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board required
