Brown Industries LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Laborer to join our team in heavy civil construction projects. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing physical labor tasks, operating hand and power tools, and assisting other craft workers.
Key Responsibilities- Site Preparation: Clean and prepare construction sites, dig trenches, set braces to support excavations, and erect scaffolding.
- Tool Operation: Use a variety of hand and power tools, including pneumatic and electrical tools.
- Materials Handling: Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials, and perform materials storage and handling tasks.
- Safety and Incident Reporting: Ensure proper safety procedures are followed, report incidents, and bring problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director, or HR manager.
- Excavation and Filling: Excavate and fill trenches and ditches.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain a clean job site, pick up tools and equipment, and secure the site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Interpersonal Competencies: Demonstrate strong communication skills, customer focus, inclusivity, results-driven attitude, stress management, and teamwork orientation.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions, including high heat and humidity, cold, ice, snow, and rain. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires lifting heavy objects, walking and standing for long periods, and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
