About the Role

The City of Edinburg is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Chief to oversee the completion of departmental projects and programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a crew, training new employees, inspecting work assignments, and operating various types of equipment in the maintenance or construction of public properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a crew and provide direction to employees
  • Train new employees and ensure they are properly equipped to perform their duties
  • Inspect work assignments and ensure they are completed to a high standard
  • Operate various types of equipment, including light, medium, and heavy equipment
  • Complete work orders and assist with traffic control during scheduled events
  • Perform administrative tasks and provide support to other divisions within the department as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in a related field, preferably with experience in employee supervision and equipment operation
  • Current and valid Class C drivers license or a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) from the Texas Department of Public Safety within the first year of employment
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
