Position Overview
This position emphasizes the delivery of both professional and supportive nursing care services in alignment with physician directives.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, implement, and assess the care requirements of a specific patient group or provide nursing support tasks as outlined in the patient care plan.
- Deliver expert nursing care to patients, necessitating a valid nursing license.
- Act as a professional contributor who may oversee the activities of junior staff or manage specific processes and programs.
- Spend a significant portion of time directing the design, execution, or provision of processes, programs, and policies utilizing specialized knowledge and skills typically gained through advanced education.
- Fulfill a senior-level role that demands extensive knowledge of the job area, generally acquired through advanced education and relevant work experience.
Typical Duties Include:
- Managing projects and processes with minimal supervision.
- Coaching and evaluating the work of junior professionals.
- Resolving complex issues effectively.
Work Schedule:
Part-time, 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; an Associate's degree may be considered upon review.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialty nursing certifications.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in nursing by establishing direction and priorities for patient care.
- Foster collaborative relationships among all members of the healthcare team, including administrative, clinical, research, and inpatient partners, to create high-performing, patient-centered teams.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding education, planning, and the development of evidence-based clinical programs.
- Mentor and oversee clinical support staff in the outpatient setting, delegating responsibilities appropriately.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to ensure seamless transitions of patient care.
- Identify high-risk patients and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Encourage shared decision-making with patients regarding their healthcare and educate them about their conditions and treatment options.
- Utilize telecommunications technologies for patient assessment, triage, and follow-up.
- Engage with care teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
