About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Low-Level System Programmer to join our team at Broadcom Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing low-level kernel code for our VMware Cloud Foundation Division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test low-level kernel code for our VMkernel I/O Hardware team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and drive them into product/features
  • Work closely with internal/external stakeholders and customers to ensure high-quality products
  • Lead the buildout of advanced features that deliver significant business value to vSphere
  • Drive quality initiatives to improve reliability and stability of device drivers and IO stack in vSphere platform

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience with low-level / kernel-level code development and knowledge of OS interfaces to hardware feature and facilities
  • Proven track record of working on challenging system software projects
  • Expertise in C programming language
  • Good understanding of modern x86-based or ARM processor architectures
  • Owned a project from start to finish
  • Knowledge of protocol stacks like TCP/IP, RDMA or NVMe is a plus
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently
