Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing simple and complex test procedures, accurately obtaining and interpreting data for diagnosis and treatment of disease, and performing related laboratory technology duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs test procedures in a timely manner as assigned
• Accurately obtains and interprets data for diagnosis and treatment of disease
• Performs related laboratory technology duties
• May perform limited blood banking duties on a limited basis with advanced training
• Actively participates in the orientation and training of new staff members in accordance with established procedures

Requirements:

• License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York
• Associate's degree in Medical Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York
• Equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician I at Roswell Park or four (4) years of full-time experience in a comparable healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Cytology setting
• Knowledge of Anatomic Pathology nomenclature
• Prior customer service experience
• Clinical lab technician license or eligibility for licensure
