Job Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Coffee Specialist is tasked with delivering exceptional beverages and light snacks to patrons at the Coffee Stand.

This role involves brewing coffee, tea, and hot chocolate using various brewing equipment; operating espresso machines, teapots, and drink mixers; and handling cash transactions.


Compensation:
$16.00

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the provision of the freshest and highest quality coffee and tea selections.
  • Engage with customers warmly, showcasing confidence and making each guest feel valued and special. Build rapport with guests by providing top-tier hospitality and consistently surpassing their expectations.
  • Craft specialized coffee beverages, including espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos, by expertly brewing espresso and frothing milk. Prepare and serve iced drinks such as coffee, tea, and bottled beverages.
  • Manage inventory rotation for items such as bread, condiments, and perishables.
  • Foster enthusiasm by inviting guests and colleagues to expand their knowledge of coffee and tea.
  • Process all sales transactions accurately. Monitor inventory levels during quieter periods to ensure the Coffee Bar remains well-stocked.
  • Record all beverage orders in the point of sale system promptly, adhering to training protocols.
  • Support fellow team members by being attentive to guests' needs beyond your designated area. Notify team members when guests wish to order food items.
  • Comply with all Food and Beverage policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards.
  • Uphold health regulations to prevent foodborne illnesses.
  • Follow and adhere to relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain safe work practices at all times to prevent injury to oneself and others, including the safe operation of all relevant equipment and maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Exhibit professionalism and strive to be the most knowledgeable and effective in the industry.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in cash handling.
  • Good judgment in addressing guest concerns and complaints.
  • Must be organized and capable of working efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including days and evenings.
  • May be required to adjust schedule based on business needs.
  • Capacity to thrive in a professional, high-pressure environment while maintaining positive interpersonal skills and a constructive attitude.

Required Experience

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Food Handler's card required.
  • RASS or TIPS Certification for alcohol awareness must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained thereafter.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

EXPERIENCE

  • Six months or more of relevant experience preferred.
