Coffee Specialist

This role involves brewing a variety of beverages including coffee, tea, and hot chocolate using various brewing equipment; operating espresso machines, coffee makers, and other kitchen tools; and managing cash transactions efficiently.

• Ensure the provision of the freshest and highest quality coffee and tea selections.
• Engage with customers warmly, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every guest feels valued and appreciated. Build rapport with patrons by delivering outstanding hospitality and consistently surpassing their expectations.
• Prepare specialty coffee beverages, including espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos, by expertly brewing espresso and frothing milk. Serve chilled drinks such as iced coffee, iced tea, and bottled beverages.
• Manage inventory rotation for items such as bread, condiments, and perishables.
• Inspire enthusiasm by encouraging guests and colleagues to expand their knowledge of coffee and tea.
• Handle all sales transactions. Monitor inventory levels during quieter periods to ensure the Coffee Bar remains well-stocked.
• Accurately log all beverage orders into the point of sale system within designated timeframes according to training protocols.
• Assist fellow team members by being attentive to guests' needs beyond one's own responsibilities. Notify colleagues when guests wish to order food items.
• Comply with all Food and Beverage policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
• Uphold health standards to prevent foodborne illnesses.
• Adhere to relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain safe working practices at all times to prevent injuries, including the proper use of equipment and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Exhibit professionalism and strive to be the most knowledgeable and efficient in the industry.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Engage with both internal and external guests.

• This position does not involve supervising other team members.

• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven experience in cash handling.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in addressing guest concerns and complaints.
• Highly organized with the ability to work efficiently and swiftly.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Flexible availability for day or evening shifts.
• May need to adapt to a temporary schedule based on business demands.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive interpersonal skills and a constructive attitude.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
• Food Handler's card is required.
• RASS or TIPS Certification for alcohol awareness must be obtained within 90 days of employment and kept current.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Six months or more of relevant experience is preferred.
