Residential Support Specialist
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team at Walnut Street Center Inc. The successful candidate will provide support services to individuals in our community-based program, promoting their independence, productivity, integration, and inclusion.
Responsibilities:- Direct Support Skills:
- Implement programs aimed at teaching new skills in self-care, managing behavior, community integration, and other activities of daily living.
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and health-related activities.
- Provide therapeutic environment, supervision, and supports that promote independence through skill-building programs.
- Assist with development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of individual treatment plans.
- Health Maintenance:
- Assist individuals to participate in health-related activities according to WSC and DDS policy.
- Provides Therapeutic Support:
- Assist in the development of Behavior Support Plans (BSP) and attend meetings as requested.
- Manage behavioral crises, implement BSP, and apply crisis prevention and intervention strategies.
- Safe Living Environment:
- Maintain work environment, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Ensure individuals' safe use of equipment and cleanliness of residences.
- Provide transportation of individuals, following WSC transportation policies.
- Community Integration:
- Promote a favorable image of individuals and the organization by fostering good community relations.
- Provide supports to ensure access to community, integrating opportunities for new experiences.
- Professional Responsibility:
- Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, management, guardians, and community members.
- Exercise good judgment, initiating actions that follow WSC policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in direct support or related field.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
$45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
