About the Role

The Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing will lead Carrier's centralized $600M+ category consisting of Finished Goods and Contract Manufacturing.

This role is a key part of the Global Supply Chain organization, reporting to the Global Head of Sourcing.

This leader is responsible for providing sustained competitive advantage in product cost, quality, and production flexibility across Carrier's global footprint.

The successful candidate will work across the business units, functions, and all global locations to develop and implement best-in-class sourcing strategies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage global category spend for approximately $600M.
  2. Develop and implement a short and long-term Finished Goods category strategy to ensure operational excellence and efficiencies are met.
  3. Establish a cross-functional network and foster collaboration with suppliers, wider supply chain organization, engineering, quality, and product management.
  4. Own the vendor performance data and report metrics to leadership.
  5. Develop and implement a category strategy which optimizes affordability, availability, agility, and innovation.
  6. Leverage understanding of similar industry, sourcing concepts, and Lean tools to ensure parts delivered on time at best cost and quality.
  7. Manage external relationships with suppliers and assume responsibility for all internal activities and decisions associated with Finished Goods category and suppliers.
  8. Collaborate within the Global Strategic Sourcing team and across Product Management and Engineering to align on long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation.
  9. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
  10. Build and develop a team of Finished Goods experts to drive global performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing environment and familiarity with industrial operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, CIRM, CPIM)
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent negotiation skills & strategic mindset
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and lean tools
  • Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain strategy (development and execution) and category specific experience
  • Independently driven problem solver with appetite to address complex challenges in a fast-moving environment
  • Proven track record of successful leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication
  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across various levels within a diverse, global organization
