Job Title: Kennel Attendant

At St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. As a Kennel Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and well-being of animals in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals in a safe and healthy environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kennel area, adhering to St. Hubert's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor animal behavior, reporting any unusual or concerning behavior to supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and the public, providing excellent customer service.
  • Work collaboratively with the medical, behavior, and adoptions departments to ensure seamless animal care and support.
  • Perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and bending, as required to maintain a safe and healthy environment for animals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of animal care experience, with a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a high level of integrity are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical activity daily, including lifting and carrying, reaching, stooping, squatting, and bending.
  • Comfortable working with cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles, fish, and wildlife.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
