Event Coordinator/Party Planner Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Event Coordinator/Party Planner to join our team at Michaels Stores. As an Event Coordinator/Party Planner, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating events within our store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Execute Company policies and standards.
  • Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.
  • Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Must have experience working with children and children's events.
  • Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in event planning, customer service, or a related field.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and early mornings.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
