Culinary Specialist

Citadel At Saint Benedict is in search of a dedicated Culinary Specialist to enhance our food service team. The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing and delivering meals for residents, adhering to established food safety and handling protocols, and ensuring that all meals align with nutritional standards while treating residents with dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing menus prior to food preparation.
• Inspecting specialized diet trays to confirm that the correct meals are served to residents.
• Completing necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submitting them to management.
• Ensuring compliance with dietary procedures according to established policies.
• Assisting in the setup of food service production lines to guarantee timely meal preparation.
• Processing dietary changes and new diet orders as communicated by nursing and dietary staff.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Able to interpret recipes and adjust ingredient quantities for different serving sizes.
• Experience in cooking a diverse range of foods in large quantities.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: Two or more years of culinary experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or skilled nursing facility.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit for extended periods, grasp, coordinate fine motor skills, push, pull, and distinguish various smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical assistance.
