Citadel At Saint Benedict is currently in search of a Culinary Specialist to enhance our dining services. The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing and serving meals for residents, ensuring adherence to food safety protocols and nutritional standards while treating all residents with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review menus prior to food preparation.
- Inspect specialized diet trays to ensure the correct meals are served to residents.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submit them to management.
- Follow all dietary procedures in accordance with established policies.
- Assist in organizing food service production lines to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Process dietary changes and new diets as communicated by nursing and dietary staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Able to read recipes and adjust ingredient quantities for different serving sizes.
- Experience in cooking a variety of foods in large quantities.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Two or more years of culinary experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit for extended periods, grasp, coordinate fine motor skills, push, pull, and distinguish various smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical assistance.
