Perricone Juices, a prominent supplier of citrus beverages, is on the lookout for an Operations Manager to enhance our production team. This role is pivotal in cultivating a culture of ongoing enhancement to accommodate our rapid expansion. We offer a stable work environment along with a competitive compensation package and potential bonuses.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000 annually
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; occasional weekend work may be required.
The Operations Manager will oversee and synchronize all plant operations related to the manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of our products. This role is essential in achieving key performance indicators including Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, Customer Satisfaction, and Employee Engagement.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Directing the production workflow, scheduling, and operational methods while ensuring employee safety and optimal workforce utilization.
- Guaranteeing timely production of products that meet Perricone's quality standards.
- Facilitating effective communication across all departments.
- Promoting a culture of safety by implementing safety initiatives and striving for an injury-free workplace.
- Developing operational procedures to minimize waste and lower costs.
- Establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
- Managing production schedules and making necessary adjustments to enhance plant efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, sanitation, and quality regulations.
- Providing training and support to all levels of staff to meet organizational goals.
- Coaching and developing team members while collaborating with Human Resources on policy administration.
- Addressing personnel issues in partnership with direct supervisors and HR.
- Driving organizational growth through accountability, expectation setting, and succession planning.
Food Safety Responsibilities:
- Adhering to all relevant OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
- Conducting verification activities to ensure product compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Participating in annual reviews and regular audits of the food safety system.
- Supporting the Quality Management team in maintaining food safety and quality systems.
- Ensuring compliance with Non-GMO supply chain standards.
Supervisory Duties:
- Overseeing a team of five supervisors managing 60-70 employees across various departments including Maintenance, Shipping, Extraction, and Bottling/Packaging.
- Executing supervisory responsibilities in alignment with company policies and legal regulations.
- Responsibilities encompass interviewing, hiring, training, work assignment, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and systems; a technical or engineering background is advantageous.
- Over 10 years of experience in Beverage or Food operations, with a preference for citrus industry experience.
- Familiarity with MRP, Shop Floor Control, and Inventory Management systems.
- Proven success in data-driven decision-making leading to sustainable improvements.
- Ability to deliver effective training programs in both individual and group settings.
- Experience in implementing processes in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP and SQF programs is essential.
- Experience in managing departmental planning and budgeting to meet business objectives.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is required, Spanish is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of juice processing is preferred.
Education:
- BA or BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management/Administration, along with 10+ years of relevant experience in food/beverage manufacturing at a managerial level.
Language Skills:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence effectively.
- Ability to present information clearly to groups of managers and clients.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle various concrete variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different formats.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Word Processing software including Word, Outlook, and Excel; ability to navigate the Internet as needed.
