Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding position for a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Maine Medical Center. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our 43-bed medical respiratory unit, which includes an embedded 8-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) and an Assisted Ventilator Unit.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of prior RN work experience, with a preference for experience in respiratory or IMC care. Ventilator experience is strongly preferred. You will be expected to demonstrate a caring nursing practice, promote a healing environment for patients and families, and possess the required knowledge and technical skills to care for most patient populations on the unit.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the effects of nursing care.
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
* Identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families and initiate appropriate action.

Requirements

* A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. Must matriculate to a BSN within one year of hire, attaining completion within five years of hire.
* Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Maine.
* At least 1 year prior RN work experience. Respiratory or IMC experience preferred. Ventilator experience strongly preferred.
* Evidence of 10 hours of ongoing education per year.
