We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at Westchester County Department of Labs and Research. As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in performing traditional chemical, physical, and bacteriological tests of environmental samples and other products.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare media, solutions, standards, and samples for analysis by others, and maintain equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Exercise partial supervision over other technical and subordinate laboratory personnel on a project or temporary basis as assigned.
  • Work overtime, holidays, and weekends when required, and perform related work as needed.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have a high school or equivalency diploma and either:

  • Satisfactory completion of 60 credits of college-level coursework, including at least eight credits in one of the chemical, biological, physical, or environmental sciences.
  • Three years of laboratory experience and/or training in a recognized laboratory performing technical laboratory procedures in the field of environmental science.
