Job Summary

The Paramedic-ED at King's Daughters plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work closely with registered nurses and physicians to provide exceptional care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care as directed by the RN or provider, including tasks such as ECGs, IV insertion, and wound care.
  • Assist with resuscitative procedures, including intubation and CPR, under the direct supervision of a physician.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and perform point-of-care testing, such as fingerstick glucose.
  • Facilitate flow in the Emergency Department by stocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
Requirements
  • Paramedic Certificate or Associate's Degree
  • Active Paramedic License in the State of Kentucky
  • American Heart Association certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and AMLS
Working Environment

The Paramedic-ED will work in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment, constantly exposed to blood and body fluids, and occasionally exposed to toxic chemicals and radiation.

Physical Demands

The position requires frequent walking, standing, and use of fine motor skills to handle equipment. Lifting and moving items up to 100 pounds may be required.
