Job Title: Construction Materials Testing Field Specialist

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Testing Field Specialist to join our team in Columbia, SC.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to perform field testing of construction materials, review blueprints, and document testing results. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction testing/inspections and hold relevant certifications such as ACI and ICC.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with industry standards.
  • Review blueprints and prepare for field observations on construction sites.
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects.
  • Communicate testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients.
  • Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections.
  • ACI certification is required.
  • ICC certifications in Soils, Reinforced Concrete, etc. are preferred.
  • Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
