Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive support to student athletes, combining clinical knowledge with a commitment to promoting health and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, utilizing clinical skills and knowledge to provide effective care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including exercise programs, bracing, and modalities, to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, physical therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as promote healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations, including observation, interview, palpation, range of motion assessment, and special tests/functional testing, to assess patient conditions.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, such as casting, splinting, and medication administration, as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to relevant principles of practice and legal standards.
Requirements
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners or license eligible
  • BLS for healthcare providers
  • One (1) year of experience as an athletic trainer preferred
Work Environment

This position will be based in the Department of Orthopaedics at UNC Health Care, working under the clinical supervision of a provider and under the general direction of the designated manager/supervisor.
