We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive support to student athletes, combining clinical knowledge with a commitment to promoting health and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, utilizing clinical skills and knowledge to provide effective care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including exercise programs, bracing, and modalities, to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, physical therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as promote healthy lifestyle habits.
- Conduct clinical evaluations, including observation, interview, palpation, range of motion assessment, and special tests/functional testing, to assess patient conditions.
- Assist with in-office procedures, such as casting, splinting, and medication administration, as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to relevant principles of practice and legal standards.
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) certification
- Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners or license eligible
- BLS for healthcare providers
- One (1) year of experience as an athletic trainer preferred
This position will be based in the Department of Orthopaedics at UNC Health Care, working under the clinical supervision of a provider and under the general direction of the designated manager/supervisor.
