About the team + roleThe Cryptography Services Team at Robinhood embodies our Safety First principle by designing and managing services that safeguard our most vital data through encryption, signing, and various cryptographic methodologies. We oversee Tier-0 services in production and operate within isolated high-trust environments.
As a Software Engineer on our Cryptography Services Team, you will take the lead in building and owning our next-generation cryptography platform. This role offers a unique perspective on the inner workings of the US financial system and enhances your knowledge of finance and cryptocurrency. We uphold a high standard of engineering excellence while tackling unique scalability challenges. Your contributions will have a significant impact within our rapidly expanding organization.

What you'll do- Design and develop cutting-edge security services within our cryptography platform.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for our core cryptographic services.
- Collaborate with teams across Security & Privacy and Robinhood to meet business and technical needs by delivering secure solutions and features aligned with our priorities and roadmap.
- Write high-quality, well-tested, secure code for our customers.
- Devise and implement strategies to continuously enhance the security posture of Robinhood's cryptographic systems and the critical data they protect.
- Experience in designing and implementing cryptographic services.
- Background in financial or other regulated environments.
- Strong grasp of cryptographic primitives, symmetric ciphers, encryption, secure hash functions, or cryptanalysis.
- Proficiency in programming with Python, Golang, and building in AWS.

Base compensation for the successful candidate will depend on various job-related factors, including education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
