Job Summary

Pacific University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our athletic department, you will provide medical coverage for our varsity and junior varsity athletic programs, ensuring the health and well-being of our student-athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer a quality Athletic Training Program for intercollegiate sports, providing care to student-athletes, including prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
  • Support students from historically marginalized backgrounds and maintain communication with Pacific University's team physician.
  • Provide medical services during practices and competitions, home and away, throughout the academic year and vacation periods as necessary.
  • Assist with the supervision and maintenance of Pacific University's medical facility for athletes.
  • Communicate with coaches about the status of injured players and review physical exams and medical histories for each athlete.
  • Monitor pre-existing health conditions of student-athletes and prepare and maintain appropriate athletic injury care records and reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least two years of experience working in athletic training at the collegiate level.
  • NATABOC certification required before beginning employment.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and registered with the Oregon Health Licensing Board prior to employment.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification required before beginning employment.
Working Conditions

The normal athletic training environment requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
