We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Kelvin Group. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and contract industrial ammonia refrigeration system maintenance at client facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Service and Maintenance: Execute routine maintenance, contractual planned maintenance contract work, and emergency service work independently or with apprentice assistance.
- Service Reporting: Complete service reports for planned service and maintenance contracts as necessary for Service Supervisor and Coordinator follow-up action.
- Troubleshooting: Support customers with troubleshooting their ammonia and synthetic industrial refrigeration systems, including mechanical and control system operation.
- System Component Service: Mechanically and electrically service refrigerant compressors, condensers, air units, and other system components and/or assemblies.
- Service Ticket Software: Ability to work with tablet-based service ticket software system to complete service tasks assigned in daily Work Orders (WO).
- Time and Work Order Reporting: Prepare and submit all time / Work Order reports daily, including accurate notes/reporting of follow-up needs and new materials required for follow-up work.
- Client Billing: Ensure Service Coordinator has proper information to complete Work Orders for client billing in an accurate and timely manner, including all receipts for chargeable or reimbursable expenses for the Work Order.
- Communication: Communicate with Service Supervisors and Service Managers to resolve open issues at customer sites in a timely manner.
- Professionalism: Be dignified, courteous, clean and in RD&S provided apparel when working in / at client facilities or when otherwise interacting with the clients.
- Licenses and Certifications: Maintain current licenses required to perform the specified service.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required by service leads and service manager.
- Education: High School Diploma
- Technical Training: Technical/trade school certificate in refrigeration. Advanced education within the RETA certification 1 through 4 and IR 1-19/ CR 1-20 modules.
- OEM Training: Advanced OEM training for equipment start-up and service.
- Safety and Equipment Training: Must complete all required safety and equipment training to perform the services RD&S offers to clients.
- Customer Service: Must possess excellent customer service skills and have a strong drive to learn and grow in the refrigeration service field.
- Travel: Travel up to 90% locally in the service branch area with a company vehicle.
- Equipment Operation: Trained/certified to operate a lull, scissor lift and forklift truck.
- Certifications: EPA certification is required. OSHA 10 hour certification will be provided. Ammonia awareness and HAZWOPER training required.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.
