We are currently seeking Construction Inspectors at various experience levels to enhance our expanding team. As we secure new projects, we require skilled inspectors to oversee and ensure the quality of our work.

We have immediate opportunities for qualified transportation Construction Inspectors and Senior Inspectors. The role involves managing and executing daily construction oversight and inspection services for a variety of transportation projects. Candidates should possess substantial experience in roadway and bridge construction, hold relevant certifications, and demonstrate proficiency in interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings, while also ensuring adherence to construction document controls and contract compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include:

  • Overseeing construction management activities
  • Conducting field inspections of contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract specifications
  • Generating daily and weekly reports detailing contractor progress
  • Performing materials testing and maintaining accurate testing logs
  • Reviewing periodic payment estimates for correctness
  • Creating sketches and compiling data for engineering modifications
  • Maintaining detailed diaries and reports on work completed and noted deficiencies
  • Executing complex mathematical calculations as needed
  • Assessing contractor schedules, including initial CPM and monthly updates
  • Communicating effectively with engineers, owners, and field staff to keep them informed of site conditions and maintaining strong relationships throughout the construction process
Qualifications:

Inspector Trainee: 0-2 years of relevant field construction inspection experience.

Inspector: A minimum of three (3) years of specific field construction inspection experience.

Senior Inspector: At least six (6) years of specific field construction inspection experience.

  • Inspection Expertise:
    • Demonstrated experience in inspection and management of roadway and bridge construction, utility projects, and related pavement rehabilitation.
    • Experience coordinating inspection duties across multiple active crews.
    • Proficient in tracking daily quantities, completing inspection reports, and preparing monthly estimates and as-built drawings.
  • Certifications: VDOT materials certifications in Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, and Aggregate, as well as Pavement Marking. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification is preferred. Erosion & Sediment control certification and Intermediate Work Zone Safety/ATSSA TCS are also desirable.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's Degree or advanced certification is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Writing and drawing skills are essential for completing inspection reports and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills (Word & Excel) are advantageous.
  • Willingness to work nights and overtime as required by project needs.
