Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Observation

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Observation Unit team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.

About the Role:

This part-time, night shift position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients. The Observation Unit is comprised of 15 beds with rapid patient turnover and discharges per shift.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care to cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and respond to changes in their status.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • A minimum of 1 full year of previous Progressive Care (PCU), Telemetry, and/or Medical/Surgical experience preferred.
  • A BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
