Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Materials Technician to join our team at Justrite Manufacturing. As a Materials Technician, you will be responsible for interpreting sales orders and manufacturing mats with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret sales orders and manufacture mats accordingly
  • Use production schedule to determine material to be cut
  • Operate manual pump lift table to obtain and transport rolls from roll storage area to load onto roll stand
  • Prepare tile/foam per order requirements
  • Operate CTW machine and measure material width to initiate cut
  • Trim all sides necessary and radius cut corners where required
  • Operate and maintain spray-gun unit to apply adhesive to rug hold and other miscellaneous items
  • Accurately control cutting instruments, utility knives, and powered rotary saws to specification tolerances
  • Retain all scrap material to be weighed and recorded
  • Packages material according to established specifications
  • Monitor product quality to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Complete all paperwork required
  • Assist in maintaining department in accordance with good housekeeping practices
  • Observe all safety and environmental procedures
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch
  • Initiative and ability to work with limited supervision, given proper instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend sales orders for non-standard matting
  • Ability to work on hands and knees while constructing non-standard matting
  • Ability to operate foot pump lift table
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling with one or both hands. The employee will frequently stand, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The work environment is typically indoors with moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to chemical irritants.

Equipment Used

This role utilizes CTW machine, spray gun, powered rotary saw, utility knife, measurement gauges, tape measure, wolf cutter, tape gun, staple gun, and forklift.
