This is an exciting role for you will develop, design, evaluate, and/or modify rugged tablet and point of sale systems with a focus on Android and Microsoft Windows products.
You will have the opportunity to develop system architecture and ensure the integrity of the architecture/design consistent with customer and regulatory requirements.
This is a hybrid role in our Austin, TX office. 3-days in the office.Responsibilities:
Responsible for end-to-end development; product creation to product launch.
Architects, designs, and supports developing, and testing of system solutions to several highly-complex technical projects. Creates system specifications for the projects. Leads technology roadmap process. Recommends project approach and goalsChampions new thinking and creativity in team members to cultivate and retain top talent.
Coaches others on how to effectively develop, communicate, and implement new solutionsPrioritizes quality and seeks out improvements in all aspects of the projectsMaintains keen awareness of competitor products and development direction to help direct designs to surpass the competitionUses status as a developer of novel and creative solutions to build business and bring positive attention to technologies and servicesWith other engineering disciplines, develops next-generation ideas and solutions to meet client needs before the competitionAnalyzes competitor intellectual property and participates in activities related to protecting intellectual propertyExercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining resultsCreates formal networks involving coordination among groupsServes as organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programsActs as prime consultant on large projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectivesMay also be responsible for accessories.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Master's in an engineering (electrical, mechanical, computer science) discipline required.
Bachelor's degree and 9+ years' experience or Masters degree and 6+ years' experience required.
Hardware development experience with Android and Windows-based computer systems required.
Knowledge of hardware architectures such as CPU, Memory, Storage, Power Management, and subsystems such as batteries, wireless displays, etc. required.
Ability to translate customer use into design requirements required.
Demonstrated delivery of innovative products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mobile product development experience highly preferred.
Rugged enterprise products experience highly preferred.
Experience with product performance benchmarking and testing preferred.
Demonstrated ability to present to C-suite leaders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to drive resolution of complex problems.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements as it relates to hardware device development and release.

Salary:
