Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Auto Appraiser - Claim Specialist to join our team at Travelers Insurance. As an Auto Appraiser - Claim Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, estimating, negotiating, and evaluating 1st and 3rd party auto physical damage claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claim Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of auto physical damage claims, including gathering information, inspecting vehicles, and evaluating damages.
  • Damage Assessment: Use technical expertise to accurately determine the physical damage claim value of assigned losses.
  • Claim Settlement: Negotiate claim settlements with customers and/or repair facilities, leveraging company resources and expertise to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Communication: Provide clear and concise communication to customers, repair facilities, and internal stakeholders throughout the claim process.
  • Collaboration: Partner with claim professionals to ensure effective claim resolution and pursuit of alternative recovery sources.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date on jurisdictional laws and regulations, and communicate compliance requirements to other claim staff as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Degree or GED with a minimum of one year auto appraisal experience required.
  • Experience: Two years of auto appraisal experience preferred; prior experience with insurance carrier preferred.
  • Skills: Strong technical background, including extensive knowledge of auto repair and repair techniques, as well as strong mathematical and negotiation skills.
  • Licenses: State appraiser and claim handling licenses (where applicable) preferred.
