Job Summary
BD is seeking an experienced Associate Principal Engineer to lead R&D teams for our Medication Delivery Business platform. As a key member of our R&D organization, you will be responsible for driving business goals and developing innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and capitalize on external and internal technology growth opportunities to develop commercial products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote strategy-aligned ideas and obtain resources for product development.
- Lead projects from concept to commercial success, handling product development and workstreams.
- Manage product life cycles for Medication Delivery product lines, including Anesthesia and Sharps.
- Drive portfolio execution for Cannula Tech across BD.
- Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives and goals for the Medication Delivery Business platform.
- Apply technical expertise to develop novel solutions and provide influential leadership to the broader team.
- Expand engineering, problem-solving, and lean agile development techniques, and improve abilities in Design for Six Sigma development methodologies.
- Ensure projects and products meet BD quality standards.
- Communicate across the organization to advise and resolve issues.
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or other technical fields of study.
- Strong technical skills.
- 10+ years of proven experience in product development.
- Demonstrated track record of technical influential leadership and delivering results.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate and influence decision-makers.
- Dedication to delivering on organizational goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters or PhD degree in a relevant scientific subject area.
- Broad background with experiences in Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, in addition to Product Development.
- Proven experience converting key trends into relevant products.
- Proven experience developing and commercializing products in the medical device arena.
