About TASC: TASC is dedicated to assisting individuals involved in the court, corrections, and family service systems throughout Illinois. We also engage in reforming systems through public policy advocacy both locally and nationally, as well as providing consulting services globally.
DIVISION OVERVIEW: The Deflection Division collaborates with law enforcement and various community stakeholders across Illinois to facilitate recovery from substance use, mitigate drug overdoses, and break the cycle of drug-related crime. Our goal is to redirect individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges away from arrest and incarceration, guiding them towards community-based support systems.
We are seeking a full-time Supervisor for our initiatives.
Compensation: Starting salary at $48,000, contingent upon experience and education.
Position Summary: This role entails overseeing the daily operations of deflection initiatives within designated communities in Illinois. The Supervisor will represent TASC in these areas, providing direct services to participants and fostering relationships with community partners and stakeholders. Collaboration with internal staff, law enforcement, first responders, and community service providers is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the activities of staff, including supervision, evaluation, training, and team development within assigned programs.
- Oversee the daily functions of program management and office personnel assigned to specific initiatives.
- Establish work schedules for team members and provide direct coverage as needed.
- Deliver direct services to clients when necessary.
- Coordinate and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality program services.
- Assist in developing and monitoring program budgets and contractual obligations.
- Maintain relevant program information and technology to enhance effectiveness and ensure compliance.
- Prepare, interpret, and present reports to the Administrator, external funding sources, and community partners in a timely manner.
- Act as the primary liaison to the Administrator for program-related needs and operational matters.
- Provide guidance and support in managing crisis situations involving clients.
- Participate in agency-wide workgroups as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- A Master's degree in a relevant field may be required based on contractual obligations.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the human services sector is necessary.
- At least 2-3 years of management experience is preferred.
- CADC certification may be required within two years of employment based on contractual obligations.
- Strong knowledge of ASAM placement criteria, DSM-V related to substance use disorders, and the Code of Ethics for substance abuse professionals is essential.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care models is beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a professional team.
