Role Responsibilities:
This position operates under the administrative guidance of the Resource Coordinator of Cardiac Graphics. The technician is tasked with acquiring knowledge of all standard echocardiography procedures within the department and achieving consistent proficiency in executing these tasks.

Key Procedures:
Essential procedures include M-mode, two-dimensional imaging, and planar Doppler blood flow studies, alongside the techniques necessary for calculating measurements of chamber size and valve area.

Daily Duties:
- Ensures timely execution of procedures to maintain the daily schedule, minimizing patient wait times, cancellations, and rescheduling.
- Learns and applies echocardiographic techniques to competently perform all commonly utilized procedures in the Cardiac Graphics Laboratory.
- Develops proficiency in performing these procedures effectively.

Coordination and Communication:
- Facilitates communication between referring physicians, departmental staff, nursing units, and hospital personnel to ensure seamless patient and staff flow, including transportation, scheduling, supply management, equipment maintenance, and problem resolution.

Knowledge Development:
- Gains familiarity with laboratory protocols, measuring heart chamber dimensions and wall thickness, scanning techniques, and preliminary interpretation of M-mode, two-dimensional, and planar Doppler flow studies.
- Regularly attends quality management meetings and participates in the selection of notable cases for quality management purposes. Engages in case reviews with physicians and conducts peer evaluations weekly.

Continuous Learning:
- Demonstrates a commitment to mastering color flow mapping and advanced procedures within acceptable time frames.
- Completes reading requirements associated with procedures to enhance understanding of their purposes and how to conduct preliminary interpretations of results.
