Position Summary
The Terminal Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of terminal facilities. This role encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining safety and efficiency within the terminal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor maintenance issues related to electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including routine plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Perform general tasks such as assembling and relocating furniture and office equipment, as well as painting and minor repairs.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of grounds and property.
- Monitor and replace essential building equipment like light bulbs and smoke detectors to comply with safety regulations.
- Assist with various maintenance repairs, including installation of shelving and safety signage.
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and company policies while executing job duties.
- Manage machine inventory and ensure proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Facilitate the check-in and check-out process for machinery.
- Coordinate the pickup and delivery of parts as needed.
- Load and unload materials from trucks when required.
- Provide support to other technicians as necessary.
- Operate forklifts and yard mules safely and efficiently.
- Communicate promptly regarding any safety concerns.
- Procure supplies and materials essential for project completion.
- Supervise terminal YMS and gate personnel.
- Develop and implement training programs for new gate employees, ensuring they understand YMS data entry and company policies.
- Enhance efficiency in YMS data entry and terminal operations through innovative work methods.
- Regularly audit terminal equipment inventory and data entry processes to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Oversee daily operations of data entry tasks, including staff scheduling and development.
- Collaborate with other departments on related matters.
- Represent the terminal and data entry department in organizational meetings.
- Complete assigned tasks as directed.
