This role is designed for individuals at the entry-level of financial analysis, focusing on the application of accounting principles and practices within a municipal framework.
Salary and Benefits
Annual compensation is set at $54,854, with an additional hiring incentive of 10% of the base salary.
Certification Guidelines

Departmental Overview
This role serves as a foundational position within the financial analysis, revenue examination, and contract auditing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
As a trainee, you will engage in various accounting functions, including but not limited to:
- Documenting, modifying, classifying, summarizing, and interpreting financial information within a municipal agency (Accountant duties).
- Reviewing financial records to assess tax obligations (Revenue Examiner duties).
- Conducting financial assessments and audits of private and quasi-public entities contracted to provide services (Contracts Auditor duties).
Training and Development
Employees will receive comprehensive training in city-wide and departmental financial procedures, revenue protocols, and auditing standards. As you progress, you will undertake increasingly complex tasks under the guidance of experienced supervisors.

This position is represented by the J. AFSCME D.C.47 Local 2187 union.
