Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Engineer to join our team at Houston Engineering. As a Transportation Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building transportation systems that improve the lives of thousands of people in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Design and Development: Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and implement transportation projects, including traffic planning, roadway and railway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and environmental clearance coordination.
  • Project Execution: Perform redlines on project drawings, pull technical reports, complete quantity calculations, and assist with project cost estimates.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with project teams, including CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors, to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
  • Client Communication: Assist in client contact and communications, ensuring that project expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Construction Observation: Participate in onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree.
  • Experience: Experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience operating MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
  • License: Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
