Job Title: Acme Screw Machine Operator

Join Nesco Resource, a leading provider of manufacturing solutions, as a skilled Acme Screw Machine Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Acme Gridley Screw Machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and job routings to determine part specifications and order requirements.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure parts conform to specifications.
  • Install and set up tooling, including collets, pushers, gears, cams, and tool holders, to machine parts according to print specifications.
  • Verify the conformance of first-piece production, ensuring all dimensions meet print specifications.
  • Tear down set-ups after job completion and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet print requirements and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist coworkers and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in setting up and operating Acme Gridley Screw Machines.
  • Working knowledge of tooling and attachments, including dovetail forms, floating shave, knee tools, knurling, tapping, thread rolling, and accelerated reaming.
  • Ability to set up machines from print and layout, including cams, gears, attachments, and tooling.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs independently and stand for up to 10 hours.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read blueprints.
