Job Summary

We are seeking an Animal Welfare Department Lead to oversee the daily operations of our shelter medical team and ensure the provision of exceptional care to animals in our shelter. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and drive positive change in animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to our shelter medical team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to achieve our mission.
  • Operations Management: Develop and implement procedures to ensure efficient and effective medical care, including scheduling, staffing, and supply management.
  • Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including veterinarians, medical assistants, and volunteers, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience; Certified Veterinarian Technician (CVT) preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a veterinary technician, with supervisory experience highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of success in shelter medicine, including experience with public health protocols and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve our shared goals.

Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
