Job Overview

Rightworks LLC is seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing network engineering plans to meet the company's data communication needs in its data centers. The successful candidate will support network services for both on-premises and cloud-based implementations.

This is a great opportunity to work in a team environment where you will be part of the engineering group that supports our corporate enterprise infrastructure.

Travel to Data Center sites is required.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with other IT disciplines to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
  • Create detailed test plans and test cases
  • Drive network enhancements from concept to final implementation and support
  • Participate in disaster recovery development, exercises, and actual events
  • Collaborate with staff to support quality and maintainable systems
  • Contribute directly to the technical work of one or more projects
  • Participate in on-call rotation and assist in resolving issues outside normal business hours
  • Maintain systems and documentation as needed for audits and compliance
  • Stay current with emerging technologies
Requirements
  • 7-8 years of hands-on experience with designing, implementing, operating, and troubleshooting IP networks in an enterprise/data center environment
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Firewalls, with Fortinet experience a plus
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with load balancing technologies and solutions
  • In-depth understanding of networking, including routing, switching, network monitoring, and management, with Cisco IOS and NXOS experience preferred
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing wireless infrastructure
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience working with and analyzing packet captures with Wireshark
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience in one of the following automation techniques: PowerShell, Python, Rest APIs, and other related technologies
  • Good understanding of Windows server technologies, including Active Directory, IIS, Failover Clustering, Hyper-V, etc., with Linux experience a plus
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience managing network services, including DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, VPN, etc.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience complying with and enforcing industry security best practices
  • Good experience using Cloud services and technologies, with Azure certifications a plus
  • Proactive, independent problem-solver who likes to be challenged, continuously learning
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with remote teams
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
