Job Title: Principal Hardware Test Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Test Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying test solutions for a wide range of technologies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in the design, development, and deployment of test solutions, including test stations and integrated test adapters.
- Collaborate with hardware design engineers to develop and support our Design it Right initiative for complex defense products and technologies.
- Apply your skills in design to develop and support innovative technologies while performing your assigned responsibilities in product development on advanced projects.
- Participate in up-front program engagement activities, including strategy and planning, Design For Testability (DFT), test hardware design, integration, debug, verification, validation, sell-off, and support.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives with peers and operations counterparts to establish and refine test development practices and approaches for the department.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of work experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience with product development and support of electronics equipment.
- Solid fundamentals of digital/analog/power/mixed signal electronics and interface/communication standards.
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing and test methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing compact embedded systems for harsh environments.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering design, schematic capture, and analysis tools.
- Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experienced in using RF test instrumentation (Network Analyzer, Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, etc.).
- Experience in systems analysis of test requirements and solution implementations.
- Experience with Test Software development and/or integration.
- Experienced writing test code to support digital, RF, or optical testing.
- Experience with printed board assembly (PBA, PCB) design using Cadence tools.
- Experience using NI LabWindows and TestStand.
- Experience in factory production test stands, problem isolation, and resolution.
- Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes.
- Experience with FPGA designs.
- Experience with Electronic Warfare systems or high power RF software defined radio (SDR) hardware.
- Knowledge of memory interfaces such as DDR, QSPI.
- Knowledge of data transfer protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD 204, I2C, JTAG.
- Active DOD security clearance.
