The position involves fostering collaborative relationships with key hospital leaders to address their needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Strategic Development:** Collaborate with the VPMA to formulate and implement a comprehensive patient safety strategy, emphasizing safety reporting, psychological safety, and a culture of transparency.
2. **Program Evaluation:** Utilize best practice frameworks to assess, redesign, or establish essential components of the Safety Program, ensuring they are effectively integrated and operationalized.
3. **Resource Management:** Identify and secure necessary resources for the ongoing success of safety initiatives, gathering feedback from stakeholders at both local and system levels.
4. **Performance Metrics:** Establish metrics and processes to monitor and enhance the key parameters of the Safety Program continuously.
5. **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build and maintain strong relationships with critical stakeholders within the MedStar system and local safety programs, facilitating collaboration and communication.

Compliance and Standards:
Ensure adherence to departmental policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, while actively contributing to departmental goals and objectives.

Team Leadership:
Lead task forces or councils to strategize, implement, and coordinate safety improvement initiatives across the organization, promoting teamwork and integration among various safety programs.

Operational Oversight:
Manage the planning, development, and execution of safety initiatives, identifying areas for performance improvement and integrating insights from safety and risk management teams.

Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and review comprehensive safety reports and analyses for key stakeholders, participating in local and system-level meetings to represent the organization in community engagement efforts.

Qualifications:
- **Education:** Master’s degree in Nursing preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- **Experience:** 3-4 years of clinical and/or safety experience preferred, with relevant professional experience considered in lieu of education.
- **Licenses:** Current RN license required upon hire.

Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in various computer software applications.
