America's Test Kitchen is in search of an Ingredient Procurement Specialist to become a vital part of the Kitchen Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities:
This role requires quick and effective training on our kitchen protocols and procedures. The individual will be tasked with daily ordering and managing the acquisition of ingredients for the test kitchen. This position will also involve leading ingredient research and overseeing vendor relationships.
Daily Tasks Include:
- Executing and placing daily procurement orders through approved suppliers
- Maintaining, organizing, and categorizing the shopping list
- Researching, monitoring, and updating product pricing and sourcing
- Assisting with the daily receipt and check-in of ingredients
- Supporting the Culinary Production team with research and procurement related to television
- Collaborating with the Kitchen Operations team on inventory and other daily tasks
Qualifications:
- Candidates should be analytical, precise, adaptable, efficient, and punctual, with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions, work autonomously and collaboratively, while maintaining a creative approach
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential
- Willingness to learn all facets of the Kitchen Operations Team
Required Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on culinary experience
- Experience with ordering and receiving in a culinary environment is necessary
- Familiarity with food trends, ingredient sourcing, pricing, and food specifications
- Servsafe Certification or a commitment to obtain certification
- Proficiency in the Google Suite is required
