Job Overview

M3 Placement is seeking a skilled Central Office Network Technician to join our team. This role involves evaluating, planning, designing, installing, testing, monitoring, and maintaining central office, transmission, and network equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routing, switching, and transport devices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to maintenance emergencies.
  • Design, install, and service central office facilities.
  • Repair and maintain power supply equipment, including rectifiers and generators.
  • Evaluate performance of customer lines, switching gear, and billing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and subscriber records.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network upgrades and improvements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist with project planning and execution for network expansions.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in telecommunications or electronics - preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Central Office operations, Ethernet and TDM transport protocols, and voice transport systems.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC power systems and electronics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
