Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician Level II to join our team in San Rafael, California.

Job Summary

As a Sterile Processing Technician Level II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and quality assurance in our Sterile Processing Department. You will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, decontaminating, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments, trays, and packs, as well as reusable medical devices and patient care equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to infection control and quality assurance protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Collect, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and packs, as well as reusable medical devices and patient care equipment.
  • Inventory, restock, and distribute instruments, reusable medical equipment, and medical supplies to Medical Center departments.
  • Work collaboratively with the Sterile Processing team to ensure efficient and effective processing of instruments and equipment.
  • Participate in departmental in-services and training to maintain current certification and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in instrument processing, with knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and sterilization protocols.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present information to customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment and adhere to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Departmental-related computer skills, with experience in inventory management and tracking systems.
